3. The original Dance Craze album introduced me to ska almost 20 years ago. The album changed my life, encouraging me to search out albums from all the bands: The Specials, The Selecter, Madness, Bad Manners, The (English) Beat (sadly, the Bodysnatchers only put out singles, so I couldn't get anything for them in the States)/5(24).

4. Flashdance on CD is not so much the soundtrack as a small collection of songs in the movie. The songs, though few, are great and evoke the feeling of interpretive dancing which is what the film is all about. The dance, in the film, is part burlesque, part Martha Graham, and part show-off/5().

5. When released in Brazil, this album was a two-vinyl set released in a joint-venture with a local record company, Som Livre, along with Sony Music Entertainment (which generated the Globo-Cloumbia label). Well cut, good mixes of the songs, it is a great compilation of the 's/5(16).

Once an off-shoot of City Beat Records, which was owned by Beggars Banquet Records (now Beggars Group), XL was managed by Tim Palmer (7) and Nick Halkes and launched with Richard Russell in to release rave and dance music. XL superseded City Beat in Beggars Group's line up of labels. XL is managed by Richard Russell and his team.
